Livable Townhouse With Large Yard and Finished Basement.

Real Estate Photography - Front Exterior

This shot became the “money shot” as it nicely represented the home and showed its essence. Views from other angles did not make the same impression.

HAVING OWNED AND LIVED IN MANY TOWNHOUSES AND SMALLER SPACES OVER THE YEARS, I ALWAYS AM INTERESTED IN SEEING HOW BUILDERS AND HOMEOWNERS MAKE THESE SPACES HOMEY AND COMFORTABLE.  Dee Karabin asked me to create beautiful images of this new listing.  Unlike many small spaces, this home presented no major photography challenges.  It was naturally well lit, nicely laid out, and more roomy than expected.

Real Estate Photography - Kitchen

Updated kitchen with newer stainless steel appliances. (Life really is good.) This is a typical kitchen shot with the camera positioned slightly higher than for other shots in the home.

Real Estate Photography - Back Yard

Another great feature: as a corner lot, there is plenty of yard space — not just in the front, but also in the enclosed side and back yards. This image illustrates several of the nicer aspects of the enclosed yard. It was composed with the steps, concrete pad, and fence, in mind.

Real Estate Photography - Finished Basement

The finished basement includes three rooms: this large gathering area, plus two smaller rooms suitable for sleep or play. The image without lights was not as clear as I wanted, so I used one with the lights on. The mixed lighting temperatures, however, caused a number of post processing challenges.

Summary/Conclusion:

This townhouse did not photograph like a small space.  The layout and generally bright light helped to give it an open feeling.
